Meet Amna Gul Choudhry
Amna Gul Choudhry is a community advocate, volunteer, and proud supporter of public education. She believes every child deserves the opportunity to learn in safe, well-resourced schools, no matter where they live or what their background may be.
Raised with the values of hard work, empathy, and service, Amna has always sought ways to give back. From volunteering with local organizations like Brown Bagging for Calgary Kids to engaging in community dialogues on racism, discrimination, and equity in schools, Amna has seen first-hand the challenges families face — and the resilience of those working for change.
As a trustee candidate, Amna is committed to:
Putting students first by ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and success are at the heart of every decision.
Supporting teachers with the resources and respect they need to teach effectively.
Listening to parents and guardians as essential partners in education.
Fighting for fairness in school funding and infrastructure, so every community has equal opportunities.
Standing for equity and inclusion, so all students feel welcome and valued.
Amna’s vision is of a school system that reflects the voices of students, teachers, and families — one that provides not only strong academics, but also compassion, creativity, and opportunity.
She knows that public education is about more than classrooms; it is about shaping the future of our communities. By advocating for transparency, collaboration, and accountability, Amna will work to ensure that every decision made today strengthens the foundation for tomorrow.
